A Journey of Faith, Knowledge,
and Excellence.
At Al Amal Online Academy, education is more than a path to graduation, it’s a journey of the heart. We believe that when faith anchors hearts, knowledge illuminates minds, and Ihsan (excellence) guides every action, children flourish as confident, purpose-driven leaders of tomorrow.
Al-Amal ONLINE Academy used to be recognized as an extension to Al-Amal Academy.
In 2023, the principal at Al-Amal Academy found the need to create an online learning environment for high school students. This is when Al-Amal ONLINE Academy first began. From the summer of 2023 until the summer of 2025 Al-Amal ONLINE Academy used to only cater to students in grades 9-12. In September 2025, Al- Amal ONLINE Academy opened its doors to students in grades 1-12 through full time online learning, blended home school learning, and part time learning. We have partnerships with three main Quran and Islamic Studies programs in Alberta (Al-Ansaar Islamic Foundation, Ranchlands Hifdh Program, and Edmonton’s Risaalah Academy) to ensure we are able to provide families with the best of both words, excellence in Islam, and excellence in academics.
At Al-Amal ONLINE Academy, we recognize the need for flexible learning for families that want excellence in academics, while keeping their spiritual beliefs at the forefront. Our school strives to provide Ihsan (spiritual excellence) in academics and the Islamic Faith.
Our student centered approach means we deliver the best means necessary for students to excel online and at home. We provide LIVE synchronous lessons for our students, and dedicate one on one weekly sessions for students who learn asynchronously with their homeroom or subject teacher.

Principal’s Message
Assalamu A’Alaykum,
I am excited to introduce myself as Al-Amal Online Academy’s principal. It is a great blessing and privilege to step into this role as a leader for a new chapter in Al-Amal Online Academy’s journey. This is our first year as a grades 1-12 school offering both full time online programming as well as blended homeschooling for families in grades 1-9.
Al-Amal Online Academy is unique in the fact that it is first of its kind as an Islamic Online school, where we strive to integrate Islamic teachings and values in all aspects of character and academics.
Our purpose is to reach Ihsan (Spiritual Excellence) through Ihsan. We pride ourselves in being able to deliver an educational experience that brings together academic excellence, Islamic values, and a commitment to student well-being. We aim to create a learning environment that strengthens both intellect and character. Students can earn their high school diploma entirely online in a safe, supportive, and faith-centered setting where every learning is known, valued, and guided to succeed.
Our school would not be made possible without the support of our Board of Trustees, and the Prairie Land School Division. Their commitment, leadership, and support has given Al-Amal Online Academy the path towards becoming a leading Online Islamic School in Alberta.
As a fully funded and accredited school within the Prairie Land Public School division, we welcome learners from Alberta, across Canada, and around the world. Additionally, we would like to note our flexible programming for families who need flexibility in their lives as they navigate other important endeavours such as Hifth of the Holy Quran.
As your leader I commit to providing the best I can offer to ensure success for all of our students in this dunya and the Akhira.
I look forward to a successful year filled with success, and blessings for all.

Synchronous vs. Asynchronous Learning
At Al Amal Online Academy, our model blends both synchronous (live) and asynchronous (independent) learning to offer students flexibility, structure, and consistent teacher support.
Synchronous Learning (Live Classes)
Synchronous learning means students and teachers meet online at the same time for live lessons, discussions, and Q&A sessions—just like a traditional classroom but virtual.- Real-time virtual sessions with certified teachers.
- Fixed class schedules throughout the week.
- Interactive lessons, group discussions, and Q&A.
- Immediate feedback and guidance from teachers.
- Encourages collaboration, communication, and accountability.
- Creates a classroom-like community experience online.
Asynchronous Learning (Self-Paced Learning)
Asynchronous learning means students complete lessons, videos, and assignments on their own schedule—allowing full flexibility without fixed class times.- Lessons, videos, and assignments completed independently.
- Flexible schedules so students learn at their own pace.
- Ideal for families balancing multiple routines or time zones.
- Builds self-discipline, time management, and responsibility.
- Access to recorded lessons and materials anytime.
- Supports review and deeper understanding of live-class concepts.
