Salam!
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources from University of Western Ontario, and Bachelor of Education in Primary/ Junior Education from York University.
My professional career started off in Ontario, after which I taught in Kenya for close to 20 years at British Preparatory Schools in various Leadership positions, including Head of Math, Head of PSHE (Personal Social and Health Education) and other Senior Leadership roles. My area of specialisation was lower and upper primary years. I have also undertaken various professional development courses, including training on the Primary Years Programme (IBO Trained), and the NPQSL (National Professional Qualification in Senior Leadership) certification. I am also qualified to teach in Alberta and have my Level 3 Early Years Education Certificate. I also have the Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level C Certification.
I have a passion for teaching and training and having recently moved to Calgary from Kenya, I was recently introduced to FOCUS on Seniors where I have been teaching Arts and Crafts to the Seniors and other brain stimulating activities such as Lego and Tangrams. With my educational background, I have the pedagogical skills to lead classes and workshops. I have recently received a Level 4 certification in Six Bricks, where I can take Lego activities to the next step and conduct workshops and team building activities for the seniors. I am passionate about helping Seniors and would like to be able to offer my services to engage their minds to learn new skills in arts and crafts or Lego and other forms of puzzles such as Tangrams.
