ONLINE EDUCATION

Grades 7–9

Minimum daily requirements for learning

  • Students should be available for synchronous (live) sessions as outlined by their timetable.

  • Synchronous learning time (Live Classes) - students will meet alongside other classmates and be led by their online teacher for approximately 120 minutes of instruction daily.

    • Students will also have small instruction time allotted by their teacher to support their learning and interventions.

    • Students will also have assessment blocks to ensure the teacher is assessing each child accurately.

  • Asynchronous learning time (Independent Learning) - students will be given independent work throughout the day where the child practices at home.

    • Social 7 and 8 are asynchronous classes: students must watch video recordings and regularly check Google Classroom for assignments and due dates. There is a mandatory Google Meet once a week.

  • Students at this age should be independent learners who know how to download their assignments and upload them for teacher review. Parents/guardians are asked to follow up with their child(ren) to ensure homework and practice work is being done and submitted on time.
