Assalamu A’alaykum!

I am super excited and blessed to be given the great amana of being the leader of Al-Amal Online Academy. I have taught from the ages of 8 all the way to 52! My education profession started at Mount Royal University as an upgrading instructor, and then to grade 3 at the Calgary Islamic School: Omar Bin Al-Khattab Campus for three years, and then to the Calgary Islamic School; Akram Jomaa campus for 10 years as a vice principal and teacher to grades 4-6 for a year, and finally as a high school vice principal and teacher for nine years. To say education is a passion of mine would be an understatement. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry, a Bachelor of Education, and a Masters in Educational Leadership. 

What fuels me is to see the lightbulb moment go off for students! I deeply believe that the work of a teacher is one of the highest amana (responsibility) Allah has bestowed upon particular people to ensure they can mould and cultivate little humans that are prepared for this world and the akhira (the hereafter). I am here to support and make sure we do the best we can with the highest Ihsan (spiritual excellence). 

I am married and have 3 wonderful step children, and 2 children of my own. I enjoy being active in all ways so you might catch me walking online every now and then!
